Born a Hoosier in Fort Wayne, IN, the second born of 9 kids with an art teacher as a dad. Transplanted to S. Cal at age 10. Grew up in Mojave, CA. Attended Antelope Valley Jr College. Moved to Tempe, AZ to attend Arizona State University. Graduated June '69 with a BS in Zoology.

Jobs... Zoology Lab Assistant in Jr College, also night time answering service operator. (for you youngsters, I took messages like answering machines automatically do today.) Summer Field Research Assistant to Dr. Eric Pianka (best job I ever had). Assistant Curator of ASU Herpetology Museum 1968-69. Assistant TV technician 1969-1970. Civil Service employee the next 37 years... 10.5 years as a Quality Assurance Specialist (Ammo Surveillance) the rest Safety, mostly explosives. During my career, I was moved from Illinois to Kentucky to Germany to Illinois to Indiana and finally, Ohio since Jan. '92. Here, I commuted the 12 miles each way by bicycle most days. During my career, others were often amazed when I caught "beasties" as we were inspecting various ammunition production or storage locations. I retired January 3, 2008.
